Have you ever started with the break/climax and made the intro later? Personally I think it can be hard to come up with the melodic content when there is too much FX, percs, to take into consideration. Just a thought.

I like this. Will leave the mixing tips to others though.

Here's a pretty much completed track, any thoughts before I finish with this one?

Maybe at the break around 30s don't bring the bassline back in until the beat returns. Turn it into a drop of sorts. It's a nit-pick, but it's all I could think of.

Excellent work Richard. The contrast at 1:45 is something very effective you don't hear often even in the 'so called' professional tracks. I am impressed, for the simple fact that this is one of the few tracks I had the patience to listen it all.

Low end is ok.

The only thing imo could be improved is the use of reverb. But it may be just personal preference. Anyway I could specify if you wish.

i like it!

agree lead could be a bit less harsh. Any high hats that you have are being completely overpowered by the lead atm. The hats are normally the very "top" of a tune, along with h tops of the synths of course

i think the bass is sounding pretty tight. Overall yes its quite punchy imo, but reference it against a modern uplifting track and im sure you will find there is much work to do

i personally find the synths a bit to dry, i know modern trance can be a bit drier but i think more reverb (long tail) would sound good, and maybe an extra layer of subtle complexity or texture

overall i like really nice defo finish it

nice and wide mix

i like the kick and bass straight away. very nice and gritty. Are you mixing into a limiter??

Im enjoying the beats

this is growing on me more every time i listen. i think it could do with more sub in-between the kicks

agree it could do with more reverb/atmosphere

i kind of feel like this tune cant decide if it wants to be a banging techno tune or a kind of melancholic, deep chill out tho. I find the melancolic bits the most convincing as the kick and bass isnt quite subby, powerful enough imo to be full on banger

in my humble opinion of course

Who are you agreeing with? Cause nowhere mentioned "more" or "less" or anything in between.

Ok I assumed you meant a bit more reverb. My bad. What did you mean then?

The characteristic of the reverb/S itself.
