this has got to be one of the best animated films i have seen in quite awhile. I have got to say this movie is better than toy story 3, up!, and wall-e. that being said, this is not your prototypical animated film. i love the dark touch the director gave the film. this is one of those rare movies that is going to touch every emotion you have in your body.

I still prefer harvie krumpet (the director's first, and shorter film) to mary and max... mary and max was great, but it was a bit sweet for me, harvey really pulls the dark, ironic humour together so well, and so succinctly!

also: Geoffrey Rush does narration for HK

i also thought Harvie Krumpet was an excellent short film.

For those who haven't seen it yet.

I like how Adam Elliot(director/writer) uses serious psychological disorders(Tourette's, Alzhimer's, Asperger's, Agoraphobia), and sets it in a dark comedic sense where we can visualize how the character is going through life with the disorder. I do look forward into more films by Adam Elliott, and his use of psychological disorders, which seems to be his shtick.

if you put twisted my arm, and asked me which is better, i would say i like mary & max more, because i enjoyed the nonphysical interaction between mary & max, how they led their lives going through their ordeals, and the way mary and max were more inspirational to one another than best friends.

watched the movie 'Klass' last night.

not just your prototypical high school shooting movie. The director does a fine job giving the viewer both perspectives (the bully and the victim). I may be reading too much into it, but i feel there is also a slight metaphor into how society shapes an imaginary caste system to define themselves. Outside of that, gives a good definition of how much one has to go to defend his honor. I give this movie 2 thumbs up.

yeah, reminded me of Bang Bang You're Dead which I also enjoyed

Australia's been putting out some decent crime movies lately. This one looks pretty nice.. called Animal Kingdom. Thoughts?

Saw Bottle Shock last night. I thought it was decent. Not great, but decent.

Now I'm in the mood for some good wine.

so good the guy;s finally getting credit for his immense talent:

My dad met him at a bar a bit after he won the oscar for harvey krumpet, and he was saying how difficult it was doing claymation, as it's considered a dead art by all the graphics people these days... so good he managed to make it work, makes sense though seeing that early stuff: Crazy how he gets the balance of comedy and tragedy PERFECTLY!

inception was pretty good! Cast was unbelievable, joseph gordon-levitt and Cillian Murphy are two of my favourites in cinema, so much skill..

after all the hype i was expecting to find it really hard to follow, but it wasnt bad at all! good level of complexity for hollywood, but by no means difficult to figure out..

bloody great film though, direction and cast were phenomenal

added the road to my queue because of someone's suggestion, just finished it and can't really say i saw the point. it was shot really well, the acting was good but the storyline wasn't as good as i would have hoped. decent film but can't say i'm optimistic for the characters' future...

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.

I wouldn't say optimism was The Road's strong suit in any way.
