Everything that gets completed will get chucked up on my YT channel eventually...Suppose I can post some links as they get finished. Appreciate the feedback!

And of course yours in kind...

Mix-wise to me, there seem to be a lot of competing frequencies in the mid-range. I think the initial pads/lead could benefit from some minor/moderate EQ cuts @ 500hz (~-5db Q4), 1070hz (~-2.5 to 3db Q2) and 3.1 khz (~4db Q2) to help clear a little bit of the stuffyness.

I like the chunky/growly bass...And the kick. Also dig the darker atmosphere. The riser/sweep starts off ok, but I personally feel it gets a little out of place tonally as it pitches up. A little more stereoziation, or just adding some more complexity to it's tone in general could help it fit in better I think.

I like the atmospheric vibe afterwards. Similar to what was noted on my track, the percussive elements seem masked/way far in the back...Of course there's preference and intention...so if it's meant that way cool and it actually seems ok anyway...but, if not...maybe something to listen for/consider.

I think a bit of light melodic flavor that follows the main synth, using a contrasting (non saw-wave synth) laced in, or used as counter-point could be cool, or some more interesting background FX could take this track the rest of the way.

I don't personally mind quick n' dirty transitions, based on the idea that we're all conditioned as far as what-to-expect-when...though I think more intentional transitions (and this is something I struggle with), can help a lot with the ebb and flow of a piece. Subtle audio cues that let the listener know "hey, something major is about to change".

Whether it be filtering, percussive elements, the beat...some kinda indicator seems important to cue up the listener to any major change that is about to occur. (And I am extremely guilty, not doing this often enough myself...)

Overall I dig it so far...and it's the kinda vibe I particularly like as well. Best o'luck on it!

Sounds good! I checked out your youtube now. Nice to see you've been so productive lately! Some good stuff. Will keep an eye on your channel.

Thanks for the feedback. Some valuable pointers. Will look at it and experiment with it after a break. Finally gonna dig in with some newer stuff now. And yes, the percussion is like that on purpouse.

Also some valid points about transitions. Thanks again!

And thanks MSZ! I will surely finish it one way or another.

First off...this has got a TON of potential and if you are saying this is an older WIP than I can assure you of one thing, it still sounds relevant in today's standards if you ask me.
I see the vision in this track, I am hearing all parts in succession with the composition and for the most part I do agree with T's assessment so, I won't carry that any more. However, just as suggestions..
Intro stabs...just as a suggestion. Through the sequence as it develops out of the filter, drop/automate some progressive Reverb. I believe it could really fill out that emptiness that follows in between each note hit.
Bassline tonality. Dig the groove but feel that it either 1: needs some secondary layering whether the same note but duped with an octave lower OR as a suggestion, something phatter. I think your Kick would hit way harder with a better sub behind it.
Not a fan of the riser at 01:13
Dig that Arp! But I think it is clashing with your Stab Pads @ 01:27
Which sucks because I like both elements
Panning? Maybe opt for a Left side Stab and a Right side Arp? (Or whatever variation you choose)
I definitely believe you should Pan on the Lead at the 2:00 mark and bring it up in the mix.
Yea man...bring this back into circulation and finish this. Probably the most old school "Trance" styled tracks, on this Wip thread I have heard in awhile. Sounds really cool...

Re worked this a little bit, it did conflict on some frequency levels (and in someways still is) but I'm stubborn.

Extremely beautiful pads, so smooth. Great piano. Great singer. This will go into my playlists when released. Nevermind I see it's already done. Good! And well done!

And thanks for your feedback. I will get back to it in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I can raise the bar a few levels.

And yes it is atleast ten years old, and as you both pointed out it got some problems. I've been working hard lately trying to fix them. But some good tips I havent thought about that I can now take into concideration! Thanks again.

@system

incredible production, I dont really have any crits but I do have some greed in me wanting just a tiny bit more presence in the bass like maybe in the 100-200hz range. it sounds good as is, congrats.

I hope I can upgrade my listening space soon, maybe I can provide some feedback of value in the near future.

No real mix feedback outside of the IEM's I've got with me...(out at work away from home)...Sounds good through 'em though.

Good stuff. Nice, smooth, dreamy. Nice interplay between all the elements...Good musical progression. Kinda wishing it was a little longer / didn't end so abruptly...but such is the way of arrangement sometimes.

I def. dig it.

Ya know, funny you mention the time. I am going through a phase where I am purposely trying to make my tracks around the 3:00-3:20 mark as an average time, if you will.

I have often been critiqued saying "speed it up dood, get to the point" as this practice is actually 180 degrees from my usual because I am the type who likes making these epically long songs, in other words the journey.

I use to live for those long cuts that took you on something more than just immediate hit you in the face and then before you know it...it's done.

I believe now days, it is all about the attention span and I believe that artist's are purposely crafting their tracks with that in mind.
I think it sucks and I am hoping the trend remains true in the fact that it is probably going to change again....albeit years, possibly decades before something new changes the face of music.

Thanks T, appreciate (as always), your insight and feedback
