There's a download cap on your internet there? Is it satellite? Also it's testing from a server that's 600 miles away so I wouldn't say that's the most accurate reading you could get.

Yeah satellite internet is regulated by governments usually. They tend to set a monthly bandwidth cap, and when you meet that it drops your speed down around dial up speeds until you buy "credits" to raise the speed back up.

And I'd imagine it would be slightly faster. The ping time would definitely be faster.

I had no idea. It got everyone here by surprise, because the kid that signed the contracts was fired the day he hired this service - I didn't even know we were switching services here!

We're now trying to switch back to the previous ISP. Sure, it wasn't nearly as fast, but this bandwidth cap thingy is terrible for a place where so many people share the same connection
