Feedback request

Ok, I dont do this to often but I took a small break and came back to production and belted this out pretty fast and it surprised me at how fast I was able to do it.I am still a noob here with lots to learn. I dont know (judging the content of the song) if this is a good thing or bad thing it went so fast.
So, instead of the usual friend listening and them saying "Thats Cool man" (which friends will always give you b.s. feedback because they are ,well...friends), I am taking it here to get some feedback by you guys...trained ears.
Not really sure what to file this genre wise...got that 90's prog thing, I dont know...I hate classifying music.
So, if anyone of you takes the time to actually listen to this, I am grateful. Feedback whether negative or positive always taken constructively.

It sounds pretty good as an old skool track.

Can you make anything more modern? That is a challenge for a lot of producers is catching up with modern styles and genres.

its not that bad, but there's not a clean sense of arrangement.

Like trancemolester said, part of getting better is catching up with the pros

Early on it sounds nice, but when those rolling arpy synths comes in, there's lot of peaky sounds poking out all over the place, so maybe slow down and take time over all that.

In terms of a subjective do I like it view, well it's for me personally just an ok standard track.

Thank You Very Much for the replies and feedback to boot.

Personally, it is funny you mention "modern" as I dont really find myself into today's music. I do listen and I do like some...but, I guess I Am just "old skool". So...it makes sense.
As for the arrangement, I am not quite sure I follow.

Richard. As far as the Arp goes, I thought that was the point , to bring up the 'highs" with perky spikes =OP

Sure I get you but what I mean is there are sort of random amplitude spikes which makes it sound less pro, but if if you like it then that's all that matters eh

Don't worry anyway, most of my productions are cr@p, with the odd ok one, so it's never easy.
