I've become good friends with people who used to be just acquaintances on Facebook because, on the internet, it's easier to know what each one of us is up to - what makes us tick and the like. It's just like meeting people in yoga classes, trendy cafes, and abandoned library restroom stalls. Affinity brings people together, and the internet just makes it easier to find your potential soulmate.
As for the newlyweds, they're both among the brightest TA's, and there's absolutely nothing about them that should raise red flags or anything of this sort. Hell, if I weren't committed myself, I'm pretty sure I'd marry Hal in a heartbeat
