His performance was terrific, but the movie itself did nothing for me. Although the rumor about the dream sequence is quite interesting, I must say.

Rumor because nothing is confirmed, of course.

Is it? I wouldn't say so, but maybe that's because I never wanted the movie to be about time travel and rejected that explanation. Donnie Darko should be surrealistic and when looking at a surrealistic painting I don't want an art fag like Nefardec to come along and start explaining "The wolf symbolizes the animalic human nature and the house symbolizes society and it's values at the time. By painting bla and bla the artist wants to express his views on bla and defines art in a new way that is different from bla and more in accordance with Bla's theory on eductaion. However for that we first must discuss the nature of art and education and their specific role in bla bla (more tl;dr)." Imo it's an awesome movie without any explanation, that time travel shit ruins things.

Anyway, I recommend Marebito and Songs from the second Floor.

Just watched Harry Brown. What an awesome performance by Michael Caine.

Not really into a lot of action flicks, but they did well with this one because the stuntwork is amazing to watch, its sort of if the French made 'Escape from NY'... but with marginally better acting, far superior camera work and no special effects.
