I'll comment later on your tracks, cause the football match is starting...

There's cool sounds in there. One thing I'm not sold on is the square'ish bassline. It feels like a Psy track and maybe it's just because I'm expecting it, but I hear more of a saw/psy bassline.

The portamento lead that comes in is way cool though, the sense of space there is rather nice!

You know what that sounds like to me, it sounds like a Killers track when they try something a bit dancier. I can hear the lead vocalist all over that one.

Today, I have mostly been programming my Massive soundset and doing a demo for it at the same time.

Could be a FIFA 14 type track with some nice male vocals. Good warm sounds in there.

If I were to be picky I'd personally prefer it dirtier and that would include a bit of a dirtier basement techno type reverb but it's just my taste is all. Always your stuff sounds up to the minute.

pretty much exactly what i thought. definitely rough around the edges but would do well as a poppy vocal trance track

and btw richard that vocal dnb track is class without the vocal. i'd totally buy teh dub mix

i REAAALLY like this. i just wish the bass wasn't so mono and thin. if it had more overall presence and stereo image it would sound really solid

Your comment is totally on target. That's exactly what I was thinking when putting it down. It has some typical elements you'd find in psy, but the actual sounds are far away from the genre.
But I'm having a hard time coming with a melody. Logic would suggest to build around the notes I've already outlined, but that'd be too predicable. I'll put it a part for some time in order to regenerate ideas.

Second demo I'm doing for my next Massive bank.

Actually using the K701s more this time and getting interesting results.

Interesting in that they really are showing me how shit my room is. Meh.

I like this more then the other Demo track, the first one I can rebuild in my mind, this one I can't. It sounds very rich..

Thanks chaps.

I haven't really made a full dance track for a few years now so I need to get my ear in again.

I may well turn this one into a full track 'mix' demo as a bit of practise again

Same here, I just can't seem to do it and lose interest in what ever I start. Great demo btw but you know that already lol..

Aye the 701s, that's all I use. In fact it's down to you I have them after you give the heads up on them from Thomann so I owe you one.

They really have made a massive difference in my mixes so cheers
