that was a sick goal by Kadri....they should just use him as a shootout specialist.

The kessel goal was cheesier then an Armin Only night.

If cheese gets up one or two points, I will take it. It the long run, its like earning those extra participation marks I get in school.

What a save by the Monster in the shootout. Talk about not quitting on the play... even in that instance. I think that was probably the best/most incredible save he's had in the NHL.

As of right now, its not really talked about or being covered in sports news. Perreault had the whole net open and Gusty down and out!

I am surprised Grabovski's shootout goal was allowed. It looked to be goalie interference to me.

No way at all. That goal was fine, yah his feet were in teh crease but teh goalie was going across and couldn;t get back. Not because of Grabi.

Grabovski clearly makes contact with the goalie which prevents the goalie from making any attempt at stopping the puck.

The rule is pretty clear on this.

quote:
69.1 Interference on the Goalkeeper - This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgment of the Referee(s), and not by means of video replay or review.

This year, more then ever, I've noticed the linesmen seem to let a lot of close offsides go. It seems every game I watch I see two or three times where its clearly offside and nothing is called.

he clearly hits the goalie's knee area with his skate and pushes the goalie away from the net while stopping to make the turn.

I still think he would have scored even if he didn't come in contact with the goalie. I've noticed more and more that players are encroaching on the goalie's crease during shootouts and there really is no excuse for that.
