yeah of course, its all been copied since the first time a caveman banged a rock against another rock, BUT its so horribly blatant now, with little to no adventurous music being made...
of course you can see the progression of types of music, but you can't really compare punk to previous movements, and you can't really compare the dawn of electronic artists like the 70s pioneers to people before them...
if you compare nearly any artist coming out of the 90s and 00s i would suggest you could find a band/group who made almost exactly the same type of music upwards of 20 years before them...
i'm not saying things come out of nowhere, i'm saying its a bit meh that there's very little innovation in the last 20 years.. i can't think of a movement that isn't simply an improved version (or an amalgamation) of a style which has existed since the 70s/80s, or before... again, if you can let me know
