I don't understand the nokia thing.
All of that was spawned by some deluded memory of how somebody might drop that phone and it wouldn't break, unlike the super phones of today? Stupid stupid stupid (IMO)

No seriously man, those old Nokia phones are fucking invincible. My fiance dropped one off a 5 story building at her old work, it hit the concrete at the ground and broke into 4 pieces. She put the pieces back together and it still worked fine
I had one too, and it went through the wash in my pocket 3 separate times, and still worked without a problem. I've heard more similar stories from friends that had one too. Amazing shit.

How do you put it through the wash when there's no water in Australia?

I've still got a 6610 I think I bought back in about 2002 and costs $10 a month to keep it on the network as my 'emergency phone'.
Thing has been through 36 countries, soaked up more x-rays than most satellites, drunkenly drop kicked across the odd dance floor a few times, trodden more than once and the damn thing just keeps going... reality is that there is no point throwing it away despite my blackberry I use for business and a sat-phone.
