The vocals sound sorta muddy and low-passed. We recorded them with a Mojave 201 FET, which is a killer mic, but has a pretty noticeable proximity effect. I probably should have had Amie back off the mic a bit. Anyway, I suggest giving them a broad, gentle cut in the 300-400 Hz range to get rid of some of that proximity effect muddiness, and maybe a slight boost in the 2-3kHz range (sweep around to see what works) to brighten them up a touch and help them cut through the mix. If there is a low-pass filter band on it, try raising the cutoff frequency to bring back some of the air/presence.

this is really cool, very unnerving vibe through the whole thing. listening on $5 earbuds but the mixing sounds spot-on to me.

here's my contribution

made the beat last night, I woke up this morning and recorded a quick guitar solo over it to get some ideas and really liked how it turned out. especially 1:42-1:57. I still have a lot of work to do on this one but I haven't shared much of anything in years, thought I'd see what you guys think before I finish it up.

Thankyou, I just updated it again after your feedback but that really is it now. Added a few more spooky voices etc. RAPHIE you will receive the WAV shortly.

Always nice to hear a bit of Human playing on here. Liking your playing and the guitar fx set up.
In terms of feedback I'm not sure where you want to take this, but I'd have fun with certain licks and nice dnb drums, es[ecially the part around 1.13 and also around 1.52

The drums you have are a bit standard for my taste but as you say you have work yet to do

It's on it's way to you now Bro. I have not sent a reference example via wetransfer as very slow to do my end, but this for me is a killer;

Yeah, so far I'm only using Convolution reverb Pro, ping pong and compressor so not much of EQ on this channel but I will check your suggestion about cutting some areas and lifting another , thanks.

Btw this bpm change slightly from 118 to 124 so this maybe something which by itself sounds a bit different then you use to.

Will definitely work on this and at some point get you on the board with this song

Cheers Dave,

Darek

I can't put my finger on it, but something in the first minute or so felt off to me. Wish I could be more helpful than that. Towards the end of the breakdown though, it all comes together really, really nicely. Could easily hear this being played at a big club on a Friday.

nice idea - for me the guitar is a bit too upfront and dominating, personally would prefer a little further back in the mix just give the track more of a daydreamy relaxing feel!

Yep! The vibe is there, whats missing is a female ROLAND lick on the 2 and 4 and ehhmm or ooowhh or yeah, but chopped in the groove and blended in the backgrond, makes it nice and deep
