At one point I had both a Voyager and the Andromeda at the same time. I compared the two and decided on the Andromeda, sold the voyager. $2k is way too much for a single voice, $500 for a mono is about my limit. The Voyager was obviously very different to work with versus the Andromeda, but often the two sounded very similar.

Eventually I sold the Andromeda as well as it was just too large and too fragile, I didn't feel like waiting around for it to suddenly stop working on me and be out $2k. Maybe that would have never happened.

I don't have a poly analog now but the synths Behringer and DSI are putting out now are preferable over the Andromeda and a more sensible price versus this new moog.

The Andromeda always was an accident waiting to happen.

It's potentially a smart move for whoever owns Alesis now to fire some R&D at an Andromeda sequel. A bit more OS development, retooling and better QC and I reckon they would sell a lot priced somewhere around the Dave Smith stuff.

I Still don't think there's anything in that video that shows it being any 'better' than any synth from Dave Smith (for example).

Still not hearing anything that an OB6 and a couple of Strymon pedals couldn't do better. Or rather sound better.
