DJ WAG/ YAKOOZA (GERMANY)
Wag started his DJ career in 1989 at a club called Lopos Werkstatt in Darmstadt Germany, where he was resident DJ for 4 years. His predecessor DJ in the club was the producer of Culture beat (Mr Vain) Torsten Fenslau. It was on his label (Abfahrt) he launched his first vinyl.
In the Airport Club (Dorian Gray) in Frankfurt he become acquainted with DJ Talla 2xlc and released productions on his labels (Suck Me Plasma & Tetsuo) up until 1997. Wag was also a regular feature act at the legendary Technoclub/Dorian Gray which at the time was Germanys equivalent to Gatecrasher in the UK in prestige.
In 1997 he played at Paramount Park a 4000 square metre reserve in Frankfurt which he met the label people from Overdose. His first Wag single Man on the moon in 1998 become a instant hit and was played by every trance and hard trance DJ/producer on the planet. A steady stream of strong releases followed this on the Overdose Label - Life on Mars, The Darkness, The big bang, Musik Non Stop, The Day The Earth Caught Fire & Getting High.
As time passed at the discography grew Wag decided to start a second project titled
Yakooza with Overdose records which also become very successful. The first Yakooza release titled Cocaine was a world wide chart topping hit. Other popular releases followed French Kiss, Loving U, I wanna feel.
Currently he travels the world performing as DJ Wag aka Yakooza. His debut Australian tour was in June/July 2002 followed by stronger tours in 03,04,05 with Australian super brand Transmission, a artist album tour in 06 and mixing a compilation for generationext in 07 with #4 ranked technics Australian DJ TyDi. He has also completed 2 large tours of Japan with DJ Sakin in 02 & 03, performed throughout the entire US continent, Peurto Rico, China on NYE 06,Toronto Cananda, Q-dance in Holland, Colombia and on the legendary Monday Bar cruise ship in Sweden with Ferry Corsen to name short few stella destinations.
Some of the other DJs he has graced the lineup with include George Acosta from USA, Cosmic Gate, Marcel Woods, Sven Vaeth, Scot Project, Yoji Biomehanika, Johan Gielen, Sander van Doorn, Organ Doners, Commander Tom & Ferry Corsten,
Wag launched his own record label Traffic-Tunes in June 2005 as the time had come to part ways with Overdose and fulfil his life long dream in running his own record label. The first release was YAKOOZA I WANNA FEEL complete with DJ Wag mix and Scot Project mix. Traffic Tunes will celebrate its 16th release in January 2008 with a from Australias rising star Dr Willis.
