Calling all 9800 specialists.....and other BB gurus.
Guys I need your help...I just got the 9800 because my 1st gen storm got water damaged, so had to replace it.I like the 9800 as well my question to the bb pros here is:-
Is there a way were I can just be on wifi and the service provider data off? One of my friends suggested me an app I tried in which when I turn off the data(3G) off thru the app it actually shuts down the mobile connection in which I can make or recieve any calls. What are my options???

If you go to Options -> Networks and Connections -> Mobile Network you have an option called Data Services, and you change that to Off.

Why would you need to turn it off? If you have WiFi enabled, and it's connected it would default to the WiFi anyways?

Love how seamless the Android player is integrated into the PlayBook!
And can't wait for this!

lol amazing how many dont look at the data bb logo shifting when they are on wifi and using data only on that....those are the ones that pay $3+ for an app to tell them so.
OK, so I lost my BB at the Rogers Centre. I left it in the bathroom. What fucking loser just takes it and doesn't return it to guest services? They can't do anything with it. Once I cancel the service they can't unlock that PIN and it's a brick. It's not like they will ever be able to use it as a BB for themselves. Fucking dumb!! I hate people sometimes.

When did you lose it? I would call guest services a couple of times after the event you went to just to be sure. Also, I would wait a week or so before cancelling the service. The reason being, I found a Bell phone in the bathroom of a club once. I turned it in at a Bell Store and they looked up who the phone belonged to and were going to contact her to let her know it had been turned in. So there's a (small) chance that someone may have turned it into Rogers. Unlikely, but it doesn't hurt to wait a few more days.

lol. i cannot wait a few days. Are you nuts?! I die without my phone. But you are right, I will probably wait for a few days. The stupid part is that I did ask at guest services and no one had turned it in, and immediately after, when calling the phone it went straight to message, so either it's busted somewhere or someone just removed the SIM card. I just don't understand, it's not going to do anyone any good.

lol I know how hard it can be to go without a phone. It's your life. I hope that a good Samaritan turns it in.
I'm totally with you on being angry though. I don't get why people don't just turn them in, b/c they've got to be an idiot to think that the person who lost it isn't going to cancel service ASAP.
