You cue a track to feel the beat to drop it in correctly on the phrase. Not to beatmatch. Beatmatching requires both tracks to be played simultaneously so you can hear the tempo difference and correct with the platter and pitch simultaneously.

Cueing is basically feeling the drum beat and the microseconds of difference depending on where you have it cue'd. No one just hits play once on the beginning of the phrase, they toggle it several times leading up. Make sense? Vinyl, CDJs, digital - it's all the same.
