Eng squad

Hart
James
Green

Glen Johnson
Carragher
Terry
Ferdinand
Matt Upson
Warnock
Ashley Cole
Ledley King

Carrick (sucks)
Barry
Stevie Gerrard
Lampard
James Milner
Shaun Wright-Phillips
Joe Cole
Aaron Lennon

Wayne Rooney
Peter Crouch
Jermain Defoe
Emile Heskey

Expect to see 4-4-1-1 with Rooney up top on his own, Gerrard just behind him or Joe Cole, and Milner on the left, Lennon right and lampard/barry behind gerrard. Something like that anyway. Other options include Heskey with Rooney just behind him. Solid enough squad lacking Adam Johnson who is a huge talent, and other players who lacked form or fitness, Walcott, Agbonlahor, Ashley Young etc but their time will come in the future.

As for GK, I'd go with Joe Hart anyday. he's played best out of the 3 and has the bottle for it.

espn is calling england-usa the "biggest match of the world cup."

hopefully itll be a good game, but bigger and more important than some of the knockout games, no way.

it's just publicity specifically targeted to the young naive audience of the US of beautiful A.

Yeah not good news. Loose our best defender and captain in one go.

I don't think it's going to be that bad of a blow. He was struggling for form and fitness all season. Plus Ledley King has been playing extremely well and deserves a place ahead of Ferdinand if you take into account Capello's claim that form not reputation will determine his squad.

Michael Dawson who was called up as Ferguson's replacement is also in the form of his life. Only issue i can see from this is Gerrard - who is also struggling for form is going to be the captain. Now that it's about England and not Liverpool , I hope he gets his act together and shines at the tournament.

Don't think losing Rio will really affect England this WC.
