Does all your equipment work ok??
I got a feeling that it all wont last very long. |
My first priority (and passion) is graphic design, im graduating in april and will be looking for a REAL job soon after. I KNOW I made the right decision for buying an industry standard computer. Surely you dont think I threw, or throw away my money on needless shit, do you?
DJing, is more of a hobby, slowling turning into a job, i had a gig (my first ever) this past weekend. i bought lowend shit because, ITS A HOBBY so i dont need expensive stuff when i wont take advantage of it. In regards to your lowlevel sarcasm, all my equipment works fine, my geminis have been in fine condition for about 4 years now, as has been my behringer mixer. Lastly, (and im saying this as a creative individual since im a designer)....
When creating art (be it music, visual, or other) does it matter what tools you use, or does the final peice matter?
To be honest, now that im finishing this reply, i feel pretty offended.

theres always a advantage with higher quality products, although with a high lever of skill the some final product is achievable...
ps, i too am studying graphic design, what a fucken expensive way of life, not only i spend thousands of dollars on materials and mediums, i also have to fork out almost AU$5000 for the new macbook pro.
ah well, never a boring day in a designers life! nor a djs!

There is no need to be offended, I thought exactly the same as him. Your gear is relatively low end and he was just asking a question. Fair play to you if it works for you, and that's all you need. Means you have more money to spend on chicks and booze, while the rest of us bums are paying off credit card bills.

avoid the macbook at all costs, just wait for toshiba's core duo laptops to be available and with the EFI mobos theyve got, youll be able to install OSX 10.4.5 on it, for much less the price WITH a dual layer dvd burner (macbook aint got this).
Id buy one myself, if it wasnt so overpriced.
