Remix of Infernal - Sorti De L'enfer I'm working on...I'm just about done with it, but here's a clip anyways. Oldschool pizzicato type stuff.

Welp, bought from a friend a pair of Rokit Krk's. The issue is that I have no treatments so everything is flying everywhere.
Probably should be using my senni 600's with the mix as well
(and damnit, I gotta change my forum name. How do you do that? Should have thought of that other than my radio broadcast handle)

when the bass comes in it leaves me feeling pretty unfulfilled. The track is really loopy so it doesn't sound very modern to me.
but i can tell it's an honest effort, so keep moving forward.

no offense but im not sure the point of producing such a dated sound and style..? you have to consider whether or not a DJ would play this in a club

Been producing on and off for several years but decided to take it a little more serious this past year. Here's a track I'm currently working on. Has a oldskool trance feel to it but the BPM is slower to fit with today's music. Composition is no where near finished. If anyone could provide honest feedback on the mix and overall idea of the track, that would be awesome. (Be as harsh as you want :whip
the only real merit this track has is a tool for moving forward, keep working at it.
first off the chords are bad. holding that minor chord with no real cadence or release makes it unmusical at best.
also, the kick/off beat bass is really really dated sounding, and gets boring fast, drums are extremely basic. you need something to carry the track, whether it be rhythmic or some kind of melodic motif.
just keep at it, off to a good start if you're very new to production. the good news is there aren't any huge holes in the mix, but at the same time the mix itself is also playing it very safe, which is a good way to keep from having mix problems, but also doesn't allow much room for creativity.

musically wise its not bad, some nice ideas
production is letting it down a bit but that will come with time. The kick/bass area sounds a bit wooly - not much definition. Try not to let one crowd out the other
