It isn't that this is bad, I believe it just needs a different "swing". Personally, I wouldn't have removed the bass but rather changed it up a bit by adding some kind of break beat. Take that and a revolving bass line and I believe this would be a beautiful chill piece

I just upgraded my Izotope Elements to Standard Edition so (hopefully) I can make better masters now but the volume differences there are just lazy MIDI programming on my part. I actually couldn't hear the differences on my >20 year old Sony Walkman earbuds I was using, but when I listen on my iMac's internal speakers it is quite apparent. Also need to find better snare samples but I will keep that thing going where the snare changes every 2 bars. It grooves better like that. I've experimented with using the same snare throughout versus alternating snares.
