Bertuzzi carried out a pre-meditated attack. True, it was not his intent to break someone's neck..but actions have consequences. Bertuzzi has been suspended four times...twice in junior and twice in the NHL (both at least 10 games)...he is by no means an innocent. I personally can't wait until the civil suit is filed. The NHL will leave Bertuzzi out to dry and he will have to pay through the nose. He better start selling (not giving) his jerseys and invest the proceeds.
After Mr. Mohr is compensated for having his livelihood ripped away, I'm sure he'll be able to forgive Big Bert.

I dotn think what he did was illegal, but it was discicable for sports, and he should make himself scarce until its all over.

That ****er deliberatly kneed Salo, and then afterwards he said it was "PART OF THE GAME" and that "I DID NOTHING WRONG". Come on, that idiot pulled a classic Ulf Samuelson, took out Salo for several weeks. So don't you start your bashing crap. What Bert did was wrong, what was evening ****ing worse was the league did nothing about the hit on Naslund. I'm a ref, and my uncle is a referee, and my uncle does things by the book. Even he said the refs should have called something, ANYTHING. 2 mins for interference or anything. And afterwards, the league reviewed tapes and still NOTHING. If they had called something maybe this whole bs with bertuzzi never would have happened.
Second of all, Colorado is winning like 8-2 at the time. What the h*ll was Tony Granato or whoever's coaching Colorado thinking by putting Steve Moore on the ice? Might as well have painted a bullseye on the guy. When a team is getting that badly routed, emotions will be high, so you don't put guys with target signs on their backs on the ice.
I don't think Bertuzzi should go to jail, I don't think they should continue to suspend him after this season. The league's decision to suspend him the rest of the season and the playoffs was justifiable (by a group of morons who never slapped Moore with anything after all the other crap they are suspending people for this year alone).
Now let's stop this stupid Bertuzzi bashing and get back to just bashing teams. That's a bit of a low blow to be bringing in the whole Bert thing to fuel this rivarly.
Besides, he didn't do it for the sympathy applause. He did it because its tradition for the 'shirt off your back' promotion at the end of the season to give out game jerseys to fans.
TSN seems to be fairly cued on the Calgary-Van series.
sportsnews report did a 1/2 hour feature on Calgary goalies
itll be a good series no doubt.
I hope I can watch some of it on TV out here.

In the end of it, as I said it since the very beginning, it is Canuck fan V. anybody but a Canuck fan when it comes to Todd Bertuzzi. Bottom line is he carried out a pre-meditated attack which in turn broke somebody's neck. Nobody can argue that point. I don't care if Granato put him on the ice when it's 8-2. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. That's like saying if you don't kick 2 ppl out for arguing in a club, then it's ok if they fight later on. Stupid stupid stupid. ALso, how can you justify us having to sit our players because we're kicking your ass???
Btw, this was not a bonehead play. He followed Moore around... followed. That is sickening. And what really got me was the hero's reception he got from Vancouver fans... YEAH!!! GOOD JOB BREAKING A GUY'S NECK AND TAKING YOUR TALENT AWAY FROM OUR TEAM IN THE MIDDLE OF A DIVISION TITLE RACE!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! YOU HAVE OUR SUPPORT!!!
And about if someone else did it... if Peter Forsberg or Adam Foote or Rob Blake jumped on somebody and broke their neck and continued to swing after driving their head into the ice intentionally, I would not like them either. Oh and Jesten, when you said Jail?????? What's so surprising?? Wasn't McSorley guilty in his crime???
Now, after all that... GO FLAMES GO!!! This is the first time ever that I'd actually think about cheering for the Leafs if they met Vancouver, is my hatred so deep for Vancouver.

I personally can't wait to watch your beloved Colorado (who sure finished off well on the home-stretch eh?) get absolutely brutalized by Dallas The Vancouver - Calgary series will be far more even than that one.

I said way before that I really stopped watching hockey after Roy retired. Not a whole lot of fun watching a sport when your favorite player retires. I'll still root for Colorado over Dallas, but if Colorado goes out, no skin off my back. And until Vancouver wins a cup, well there's really nothing else to add to that is there?

My favourite player was/is Mario Lemieux, I don't see much of him these days yet I still have plenty of fun watching the sport; guess you're not much of a hockey fan.
