Dude, why did you have to throw that Mr. Crowley track in the September 06 set. I can't stand that guy, or Black Sabbath (yeah, I know it's a remix of that track ).

So I've been listening to Renaissance Presents Sequentia (Mixed by Hernan Cattaneo) a lot the last couple of days. It's pretty good but the sound doesn't really vary a whole lot since it's almost entirely progressive house. By vitrue of that, it doesn't sound terribly original or inspired as the sound is pretty consistant and nothing that new really. That makes it have a lot less replay value as say Digweed's "Transition" compilation, Holden's "At the Controls," Way Out West's "Don't Look Now (Bonus Mix CD)." Sequential is pretty catchy and easy to get in to, but it doesn't really push any boundries or experiment with sounds much making it sounds somewhat dull and unoriginal in comparison.

And yes, I still listen to WOW's "Don't Look Now" even though it's from 2004, infact I'm listening to it as I post. I prefer and value quality. Being new doesn't make something quality. Another good example of a quality mix compilation would be Danny Howells GU027 Miami or Nick Warren's GU028 Shanghai. I still listen to those too btw, including Oakefnold's Perfecto Flouro from way back in the day, 1994 I think.

Zild, your December 2006 mix is freakin' awesome. I've been listening to that a bunch lately. Nice tracks, good progression, flow, and mood. I'm looking forward to your February session .

Damn Damn Damn!!!
My relative in the foundation biz just sent me his report on the property I was going to buy.
Apparently, when someone plants a tree in the back yard, DON'T PLANT TO CLOSE TO THE FOUNDATION or plant a tree that has a root mass that omits out from the main trunk. No root barrier was installed when the house was built, well at least one that worked.
Baicaly the tree root growth under the foundation has caused irreparable damage.
Oh well

No loss, least you know about it rather than being a few hundred K in debt and looking to get deeper. Nicely spotted though, you have problems with white-ants/termites down in Texas, they're your next biggest worry if the house hasn't had caps put on it's foundations.

yep, no wonder the owners were like chomping at the bit....
apparently you cannot kill this type of tree cause its root system is so vast and other little baby trees start to grow our from the roots that snake out above the ground.
I am just going to build me an adobe or cinderblock house and leave it at that..

Wow, sounds like the whole property is a write-off, demolish and re-start from scratch. Cost a fortune, have to feel sad for the next lot that wanders in and actually buys it, always be wary of a place that's being sold recently renovated as well.
Paint, new floorboards and spackle filler hide a lot of sins like a leaky roof, plumbing out of order and you can usually spot a 'cheap' job with lots of painted over particle/chip board and laminate floorboards they throw down over the old ones.
Better off with something old, kind of rough and shows you exactly what it is. After that you can refurbish and renovate all you want.

If I had double or tripple to invest, I would do exactly that, ....

I'd advise against building for a 1st home, costs can blow out on construction for all sorts of things and it's more or less a last resort unless you cannot find anything else existing.
Anyway I'm half frozen and unless I want to spend the night in the proverbial doghouse I'm going to bed!
