Well, that'll learn me to mess with the balance of the universe by laughing at honda owners.
Poppy the Wonder Whale died this afternoon when it was bucketing down in Sydney, stopped at the lights, rear ended by some dumb bint in a Toyota/ 4WD Tank and pushed into traffic. Collected a mid 90's Mercedes and totalled that too.

All broken.
Least my friend who was borrowing it is completely fine, something to be said about a huge luxo-barge of a sedan when it comes to being smashed to pieces by other large vehicles.
So tomorrow, I fill out all the insurance, pick my belongings out of the wreck, collect my friend who is hiding in fear of her life at her parents place probably thinking I care about the car more than her

Guess I'll get used to doing a bit more walking for awhile!

Oh! What a fun afternoon!

Getting a loaner off her brother 'Mr Evil' he doesn't use any more, some kind of nissan 4 cylinder coupe thing.
Beats walking, has an MP3 player ( hurrah!) and that's about as much as I know.

Oh well, picked up my CD's and bits and pieces, signed it all over to the insurance company, couldn't believe the damage. Whole rear end was gone and so was the front-right quarter

Or an ami 6..the one with the reverse back window

I do like the DS and plan to own one one day, but they're kinda too expensive for my budget atm

Anyway, I just watched Mulholland Drive (yeah, I'm a decade behind). At first i had the "WTF?" impression, but after reading interpretations of the movie, I am really amazed with it's complexity and a multitude of metaphores and alegoric meanings. Lynch is a genius!

Though my little Hyundai never went to pieces when people crashed into me (about about once every year, i had 6 accidents so far in the 4 years since i owned it) i always get pissed off because in 4 out of 6 cases it was a big fucking car that crashed into me. Now my back and neck have already suffered a lot of damage due to accidents (not just with cars) and the Getz isn't really that safe so the last time someone crashed into me and i had to go on painkillers again because of my bad back and neck i got so pissed i almost sold my stock portfolio just so i could buy a big fucking car (i was already looking at a nice used 7 series). At that moment i didn't care that im saving up to avoid money troubles when i start a family, i just wanted a big fucking car so that people wouldn't want to crash into me all the time Also ive had a crash while being in a 7 series (i wasn't driving, my friend was driving his dads car and some drunk asshole came down the wrong way in a one way street and crashed into us) there was barely any damage on the BMW while the other blokes car was completely destroyed, all this at 30km/h) and while it might sound strange to say this it was incredibly comfortable (for a crash). I didn't do it then, but lately ive been driving quite a lot because of work and school and every day some idiot drives so carelessly that im amazed i haven't had a crash yet. But next time it happens im selling my stocks and buying a big car...then lets see how many wannabe street racers in their clios and civic s will want to pull stupid shit in front of me on the road

Well there i go off on my own rant, completely forgetting what i wanted to say in the first place.

You poor boy
Car accident injuries sometimes take awhile to really show how bad they are to things like your neck and back, can be hard to impossible to fix as well. About the only complaint from my friend is that she said her ears hurt from the airbags going off, so I'll keep an eye on her for a few days to make sure there isn't anything else.
Small cars are ok for what they are, provided that you're only being hit by other small cars, if you didn't want to spend a lot of money I guess you could look around for an older Mercedes, Toyota or Peugot. They're very tough! Kind of rudimentary inside and certainly but they're built out of big lumps of dumb iron, seem to go forever too.

Found out why my friends brother was happy to loan me the nissan.
It's loud, like break windows loud roar and all these, howling, whooshing noises
It has bricks for suspension and it feels like you're being kicked in the bum over the smallest of bumps
It's low, which makes it interesting/embarrassing to get out of in a dress.
It uses really expensive petrol at a rate that made my V8 look frugal, unless you don't rev it much and it's like any other 4 cylinder job.

It scares the crap out me.
I think I'll sort of only use it if I really, really have too.

Hm, that stuff really sucks. Luckily I didn't have a crash for years now. The only one I had was when I just got the licence, and it was kinda my fault, so it doesn't really count

Anyway, Mongoose, if you're short on funds but want a tough car, did you think about Lada Niva or some old Land Rover? Not much sophistication in terms of airbags and stuff, but they make up for it with tons of solid steel and roll bars. My dad had a guy crash head on into his Niva with a VW Polo. My dad's roll bars got skewed and the water tank was ruptured, but in the process he ran his car all the way to the other guy's battery, which was right next to the cabin

Gack!

That car reminds me of one my uncle had.
He wasn't kidding when he said the car has, "road feel"...
