Anyway, I'm not responding to them anymore because I understand that that's their ploy, to get me pissed off so that I act like the asshole that they want me to be perceived as here.

Isn't that kind of like what COINTELPRO is about, anyway? Agent provocateurs baiting rights and other activists so that they might engage in unlawful or otherwise morally or legally questionable activities?

I haven't used gcc in a while. I tried man gcc and googling for a couple of hours with no luck. Basically what I'm trying to do is compile a c++ source code file and run it. Don't worry about dependencies or libraries since I'm ssh-ed in to the unix labs on campus and everything there is up to date. I'm pretty sure to complie it it simply:

gcc -c [source file name]

but it gave me a binary file with a .o extention that I obviously can't run. Like I said, I've been googling for a couple of hours and the gcc documentation is a little too extensive for me to read through at the moment. All I have to do is make sure my code works. Well, I still need to complie and run it before I submit it. Anyone experienced with Linux/Unix and gcc got any idea? Please, no IDE's, I hate IDEs. They take way to much time to configure and are fairly useless you're looking to debugg fairly complex layers of code.
