I want to make a difference in history. My plan currently is to become successful in business, and slowly work my way up in influence. If you ever get to be a diplomat, I want to be on your staff! You can be a board member of my corporation!!

Hehe I don't know if I would get a staff, but I'll keep you posted. If you're interested, you should think about an internship in DC over a summer sometime. There are tons of really interesting positions out there - either on the Hill or in the non-profit sector, where you can get a real taste for the foreign policy stuff.

Haha, I ask myself that every day.

DC is expensive as hell, and I really don't want to have to take out any more student loans. Buttt... the experience can be pretty invaluable as far as making yourself more marketable here in the future, so there are always people willing to get by on pennies in this town.

Dude, I am a GS13 Step 4 with series 2210 and my ass would not move to DC!!! My buds are up there and they make the same as I do, but my money down in Texas goes WAY FUCKING farther than if I lived in DC...

you are also right about the opps too!! DC is known for just handing out the grades if one applies one's self.

The whole DC area is expensive. My dad's house in Fairfax is $1800, while the same house in Tampa, Florida would be $1300.
