I didn't forget it, but its omission is based on an argument of mine (and that I've heard from others) about what the world cup is.
The reason behind the popularity of world cup isn't football alone. It's a duel of nations: a bunch of players from the same nation representing their land. This is far from happening (thankfully) in national leagues, where you have people from different cities, different countries and whatnot playing in the same squad. And, they're all playing the same sport - it's not like the olympics where you have several different olympic events happening at the same time. During the olympics, it's almost an individual effort, as you can have athletes from the same country competing against each other (e.g. swimming).
In fact, I don't even like football - I'd hate to spend one hour and a half watching guys kicking a ball. My interest on the world cup is the passion that there is over something that doesn't really exists: the concept of a country.
The fever, the passion, that irrational - but strong - feeling that stops entire cities, where almost all citizens draw their attention to a small court with 22 players.

Um, no I don't think it should work that way. You just start with 0.2% of people already having 6 fingers, and go on from there. Having 5 fingered people have a 2% chance of evolving a 6 fingered gene would necessitate having 6 fingered people with a chance of evolving a 5 fingered gene. So the last 3 should sum up to 0.
I think the question said that 5 fingered gene is recessive. Lots of the possibilities you mentioned above are impossible. Mostly the ones where 55+55 give a 6 fingered child, or where xx+66 make a 5 fingered child.
Just rounding this one off. There's going to be some months before I have time to look at this again, and it appears that the original poster has lost interest anyway.
Anyway, we're definitely seeing the setup differently. In your setting there seems to be no explanation as to where the 2% of mutants came from, and in that, yes, you're right: It would be impossible for 55s to have 65 kids. However, if the extra digit is seen as a possible mutation, as I do, then it would not be impossible.

Are there any books or something you guys could recommend that could provide some insight? I'm guessing Drug_Tito, trancaholic, and Renegade have probably read plently of material related to this subject. So if you guys could direct me to something that would help, that would be much appreciated.
The best book - by far - I've read on the subject is "The Fabric of Reality" by David Deutsch. It explains time from a philosophical angle, but assuming current observations and theories within mathematics and physics as valid. Basically, time is seen as non-existent, with the universe (meaning what is) being an infinite uncountable collection of physical universes that are each related to all others by "similarity" relations, that we can approximate by probabilities through the theory of quantum mechanics. A physical universe A may then be immediately "before" a physical universe B, if it sufficiently similar. The book is a good 350 pages, and it doesn't belabour its subject, so of course my feeble attempts of explanation here do not suffice. You'll have to read it yourself if you're interested. (Teaser: The philosophical model it presents explains both why there are no real antinomies related to time travel and why the question "what was before the universe" not only is meaningless, but also not interesting.)

I think Plato would tear you a new one if he saw that.
Actually, I'm not convinced that I wouldn't agree with him. Numbers, by virtue of being defined specifically as non-existent are more definitely real than matter or space, which each seem to depend on the realness of the other for their own realness. Bertrand Russel's excellent definition of "matter" springs to mind: "Matter is anything that adheres to the laws of physics. Whether it exists I don't know".

So let's say there are events A and B. Now, the event A happened before event B if a beam of light that is released from event A when it occured arrives to the spacial location of event B before it happened at that point in space. If by the time the light beam arrived there event B already occured, then B happened before A, and it is not in a causal relationship with A.
I didn't get this part. Are you saying that causality is (merely?) some sort of temporal precedence?

I read an article (or maybe on TV) recently that the Championship (England's second division under the Premiership), in terms of revenue generated, is actually the 4th (!!!) biggest league in the world (or maybe it was Europe)!!! Think it went...Premiership, German 1st Div, Italian (or maybe Spanish) 1st Div then the Championship!!

I meant causality as an ability of one event to preceede and therefore influence another event, regardless of how significant or insignificant that influence might be. I did not mean it in the terms of cause and effect.

Maybe ... I would like a major city ... but one of my current directors may accept a high level position in St. Louis ... and subsequently bring me on. We'll see. Personally I'm a fan of NY. My job WILL change in the next month or two ... my city might change.
