So I got my insurance reinstated today. And now I'm finishing up the accident report to file it with the police department. The estimate I got from the auto body/paint shop is $3584.81, so she's screwed . Oh, I also found out she was driving with an expired license, so she's really screwed.
EDIT: Ok, now I feel a little uncomfortable. She was pregnant and was driving with an expired license. The consequences of me filing a police report (which I'm required to do by law) is that she'll go to jail for six months and the state will take her child. But the fact of the matter is that she crashed into me when I had right of way, so the accident is entirely her fault, and it's her lack of responsibility to be driving with an invalid license. I feel sorry for the unborn kid but I don't really have any option other than filing the police report. Plus, she tried taking advantage of my state of mind at the time of the accident and was trying to get me to pay for the damage to her vehicle at the spot. She also refused to cooperate with me once I called her back. So I don't feel and sympathy for her. It's her fault, not mine. But I still don't feel good about the child being seperated from it's mother . Plus, I am not paying $3584.81 for repairs to my car as it was entriely her fault that my car was damaged in the first place. What do you guys think?
