^^^ LOL, that's a part of "chilling out" I guess, at least for some of us . BTW, Armin's A State of Trance 2005 Disc 2 isn't that bad. The rest of his recent sets/compilations are crap though .

You'll probably find this funny, I found it in the COR of all places and it more or less sums up how I'm starting to feel about PD/D...
I understand why you might feel that way. Here's my explanation of that:
I agree that some guys or certain comments tend to be a bit insensitve at times, especially keeping the "demographics" of PDD in mind. But I think one reason why women tend to get more upset by the language and tone here is because they invest themselves emotionally more than men in whatever topic is being discussed. Whereas guys on the other hand tend to take things less personally and be more relaxed about it. That might sound over simplified but I think that's what it really boils down to. Another thing that I think factors in is that men tend to be alot more direct than women, and also less concerned about people's sensitivties. And whenever you have a disproportionate majority of any type of group anywhere, the sensitivities of others tent to not be taken in consideration as much. I'm not saying it's a good thing, it's just the way it is. Hopefully my generalization there didn't piss you off or anything, but it helps simplify the explanation.
EDIT: I also think that partly explains why women don't tend to participate anywhere near as much in PDD. Plus, this again is a generalization, but I don't think most women are anywhere near as interested in political dicussion eigther. Plus, heated debates and confrontations are sort of common when it comes to politics. Even if it's kept civil (i.e. no foul language), women tend to still take things personally rather than just interpret posts in context of the discussion.
EDIT: Take me and LOL, Firecracker for example, we rip on each other a fair bit but are usually pretty chill in here. No offense Jeff, but Firecracker sounds pretty damn funny .
