I didn't say that I was interested in the actual "religion". I just said I met some Scientologists and learned a bit about how they think. It's a strange process. I'm having difficulty understanding the whole concept.

I never went to Prom. Or any of the dances. They just didn't appeal to me. I think I worked Prom night, actually, and then I went home to my boyfriend and I's house. I'm sure at the end of the night I was still doing what all the other prom go-ers were doing.
Nah, i dont like dances either. And prom was pretty lame too, they served ice tea as drinks!!! In sweden they serve alcoholic drinks at prom! makes everything much more interesting but it was still fun, seeing everyone dressed up and such was pretty cool too (damn some girls are sexy dressed up ).

But I still think that Denmark - with all its flaws - can easily beat Sweden. Take something like beers, wine, spirits (which I guess we can all agree are more important drinks than Red Bull): They can be bought everywhere in Denmark as long as you're at least 15 years old. In Sweden you have to go to the government monopoly "Systembolaget" and kindly ask permission to buy it. I try to avoid going to Sweden in search of alcohol, but I seem to remember that Systembolaget requires you to be at least 18 and that they have bad opening hours (St_Andrew?).
Ya, swedish alcohol laws sucks donky balls! But its probably going to change thanks to the EU
but yeah, i think denmark is a good example of how a country should have its laws (or rather avoid having laws). But you still have lots of stupid laws, like apperntly red bull is not allowed, and i dont think transfat food is either? etc

Huh? I haven't heard of that, but can't say it's not true as I don't really know much about fat-types (I'm naturally slim, so I have had little use for that info). You can certainly buy bacon, cream, food oils and the like. But transfat may be something else?

I just heard it a couple of times over here on the news, cause they were discussing whether or not they should ban it in canada too, and they took denmark as an example of a country that already banned it!
I have the same "problem" as you, so i dont know much about fat types either. But i think the difference between trans fats and normal fats is that trans fats are REALLY hard to burn, almost impossible, meanwhile normal fat is easy to burn through exercising. It is also really bad for your cholesterol. Someone else might know more than me about this tho?
Ah yes. Now that I see that picture in the article I remember something about McDonald's having to come up with a new kind of oil for frying their fries some years ago. However, I think that it only applies to restaurants and such, where the customer doesn't get to know how his food is prepared. You can still buy "bad" oils in the supermarket.
@All: What's the taxation level in the US (roughly)?

Loaded question, when you combine federal income tax, state income tax, state sales tax, property taxs, employment taxes, etc... you can range between 20%-65%. A lot depends where you live and how much you make.

65%??? That's insane. In Denmark (which I've been told is the country that taxes its population the most) the absolut top level of taxation is 72%. I'm having a hard time believing there's no bigger difference between the US and Denmark.
But ok, let's say that you earn $100k a year and live in NYC (random example ) and own nothing (i.e. rent your way through life)?

When I was at prom we all got drunk and then this guy from my class got in a fight with some local delivery boy and then half of my class went out and got in a big fight with local cooks and waiters

lol, according to wikipedia, if you count all the hidden taxes and stuff, the tax in sweden is max 92%!
but i read somwhere that the average american pay about 30% of his/her wage on things that a swede would get for free.

I didn't live in edinburgh then but now I do and I was on the piss (right now) and saw one of her mates in a chip/kabab shop (I live in edinburgh just now).
(I dumped her via the method of not speaking to her but she knew well that I wasn't happy and I had said 'maybe it was a good idea we didn't go out')
Anyway her mate pulled out the same shit as she did "how can you stop speaking to a girl you've been going out with for 3 years" she thought (her mate that is) that I'd been cheating but I said I recond she (my ex) had, but not really I know she hadn't.
My ex I recon was a drama merchant pulling out all this shit but maybe I'm a dick for "dumping" her by not speaking to her even though I had said before that we didn't have a future.
Anyway what do you recon? (am I a dick? I semi think I am even though I told her what I thought)
This is one of the reasons i gave up alcohol...posting whilst pissed........ .........sorry Dervish, but this is a very good example.....
No bottle mate, no bottle, you should have done the dump by text method, that doesnt require that you talk to her either....
But i would imagine it leads to a belt in the gob the next time you bump into her.......
