i'm with you on that. personally even Star Wares ep 1 was better then this movie
I have the same feeling wrt. ep 1, but have been thinking that it might be because it's a long time since I saw that one (time soothes over bad experiences). At least I don't recall ep 1 being so bad in the acting and script departments as this one.
Hey Tito, you say that the movie is not terrible. I would say that the F/X are on par with what you see in most other blockbuster movies these days, and that there's some imaginative weapons, beasts, and vehicles here and there, but those don't really pull a movie up from awful in my book. What other qualities do you think it has?

The movies not good, but having seen all the Star Wars but Episode 3, I'm glad I did. So even though the acting was terrible, the story could have used work, etc, I am finally contented.

no, seriously, james bond is good! Not because its a deep story or very real or anything (its obviously not), just because its good action movies and he always have these high tech stuff, nice girls and lots of luck

After having seen it, I can't shake the feeling that you either need to be blind and deaf, stupid, fundamentalist Lucas-worshipper, or possibly a combination of those, to rate this one higher than a 2 on the 1 to 10 scale. But I see so many 10-out-of-10 reviews, that I'm beginning to suspect that there really is some fantastic redeeming quality to the movie, I just haven't caught onto. You're all observant people, so maybe (if you liked it) you can tell me why it's so fantastic.
I think the crux of the issue with Star Wars is the storytelling hasn't evolved.
It's like comparing an episode of original Star Trek with The Next Generation. The difference between Kirk and Picard gives us a concrete example of how the audience demands more from a story, and its characters.
To relate that back to Star Wars then. Star Wars story telling has never evolved. It's still presenting us with story telling that is 20 years out of date.

I still think ep 1 is totally horrible. It's utterly boring and has that annoying Jar Jar Binks idiot.

Umm..it has star destroyers. And Death Star. And Darth Vader. They're all cool. Oh, yeah, and that coughing robot with tuberculosis, he rocks.

With "observation towers". And convenient gravitational fields that for no obvious reason automatically and irreparable adjust to the orientation of the craft wrt. the nearest planet surface. Even when everything else on the ship has stopped working and is on fire...

In the making. Yes, very impressive. Sort of like how the skeletons at the museum of natural history instills a sense of fear not unlike that of being faced with a real live T-rex.

Stumbling and screaming "noooooo". Darth Vader doesn't scream. And he never screams "nooooo". And certainly not because of some woman. No, what we saw was a whimp dressed in a halloween suit. Notice how even the emperor has a hard time not laughing out loud at the sight.

Yes. It was very impressive how he bailed out every time there was some conflict coming his way...
No, sorry. I'm just a little bitter at seeing the result of 20 years of pondering and millions of dollars of budget, being realized as something that I can hardly imagine being much worse.
