two breakdowns and two goals.....buffalo sure does capitalize on them.
I seriously wish Kessel would learn another shot other than a snap shot.....that's all he knows how to do.

I thought they played pretty well for most of the game. I agree with you tho, when playing the sabers you cant give them any chances or they will take advantage. At least they got a point but it was their game to win.

I don't see why you guys would be disappointed. After a really slow start this team is actually overachieving imo. They can actually squeeze into the playoffs if they go on a run due to the extreme parity in the East after the top seeds. It is anyone's ball game for the second half. An Olympic break almost means a new season, lighten up a bit.
I know it is easy to get excited at new blood on a new team, but if any of you were thinking parade on Younge Street at any point of the preseason, you might want to recheck your meds.
The Leafs are pretty good for a team that looked like they would give the Bruins the first overall pick next year to my extremely large chagrin. I don't really give a shit about the Leafs either, because i hate them more than school in summertime...but to be disapointed does not compute.
Like what where you really expecting? A conference title?
I am far from disappointed in the Leafs right now. Since their bad start they have been over .500 and they are only a few points out of a playoff spot. They could sneak into a playoff spot but they could just as easily finish 14th. I hate the single point for getting into overtime. They either need to get rid of the single point or award more points for a regular time win. It is possible to get 82 points in a season and loose every single game....that seems stupid.
Personally, I think they should award 3 points for a regular game win, 2 points for an overtime or shootout win and 1 point for the tie in regular game. It's almost impossible to catch teams when you have so many games go into overtime. Teams play for the regular game tie and then hope to win in overtime or shootout.

I disagree, like it or not the system that is in place now is working to keep and give fans in many cities have some hope. Look at the standings, it is crazy how close everyone is in terms of points down to the bottom.
This means that more games will be "4 point games", and be that much better/interesting. I've never been able to really get into games against teams like Atlanta before. Now that the games mean something, i can tell you that last night's game really got my attention.

It is possible for a team with less wins to make the playoffs simply because they went to overtime more often....that doesn't seem fair to the team that won more games. I don't care about keeping it close to keep fans in the stands. This is being done only to keep what few American fans there are interested in the game.
You should be rewarded for winning in regular time. Make the games more interesting by having regular time wins worth more. As it stands now....teams are affraid they are not going to get a point and they play for the tie....that shouldn't be how any sport is played. You need to play for the win and that just isn't happening anymore. I find games are less entertaining now because teams are affraid to give up a scoring chance right from the get go.

It really makes a difference in that run for the last couple playoff spots. It doesn't really affect the top or bottom teams any.
