Look man, all i am saying here is that some teams in the Nhl would not have a ceremony for a presidents cup or division championship banner raising. If they did something like that in Montreal the organization would be ridiculed by its own fans. Heck, Toronto hasn't won a cup in 44 years, and i don't think that their fans would stand for that either. How proud do you think Washington was to be President's Cup winners last year.
that being said:
"The Montreal Canadiens have finished first overall 21 times, the most times in league history, although this was most recently accomplished in 1977–78, and have never won the trophy. Detroit is second with 18 first-overall finishes"
Maurice Richard never won the Maurice Richard trophy...i guess he never won the scoring title.
Playfulness aside, i like Buffalo...because for the 3 games i've been there for, it felt like a home game for us. More of us than of you
The President's Cup? Is that a new award they're giving out these days? I must not be too up to date with my hockey.
People are usually proud of achievements. Winning your division, winning your conference, winning the President's Cup, they're all achievements.
It's sad that your team's fans are so jaded that they can't be proud of their team for accomplishing anything other than winning the Stanley Cup.
If that's the case, you should stop arguing that your team is better, or that the Sabres won't make the playoffs this year, because after all, if Montreal doesn't win the Stanley Cup, nothing they've done this year matters, no?
You sound like a Yankees fan. Although I'm sure that if Montreal goes down in the first round of the playoffs, you'll say "hey, at least we made the playoffs." Stop being a hypocrite. If nothing matters but winning the cup, then stfu until they win it.
