A State Of Trance
Be sure to stick around for A State Of Trance w/ Armin Van Buuren
Saturday 25.07 from 17:00 (16:00 CET 15:00 GMT) @ Discover Trance Radio and Monday 27.07 from 19:00 (18:00 CET 17:00 GMT) @ TranceNet Radio 2 Faces 019 presents guest mix first hour Jorj Trousy.
Jorj Trousy is a romanian dj that took contact with electronic music in the mid '90 by listening to a variety of genres, from trip-hop, chillout to jungle. From the year 2000 he begins producing techno, but only at a personal level, experimental. Slowly he started his way as a dj and from the year 2002 he begins doing various mixes using Traktor , approaching genres like techno, progressive, deep-house and dirty-house. This is also the year when he gets under the wing of a (by-now) consecrated dj, Dj Pedro (Circoloco), mixing in various location in the capital of Rumania, Bucharest , in clubs like Martin and Escape.
Un-happy with the twist of the genre (turning into a more minimalists sound), in 2005 under the influence of Armin van Buuren's radio show, ASOT and Sander van Doorn's style he skips to trance, keeping the techno influences and focusing on uplifting and tech-trance. Starting the summer of 2008 he began his own radio show, Circulation Series at Radio Trance Romania and from november 2008 at Discover Trance UK.
Music is important to him in every aspect, and although dj-ing is his main concern in the present, in the near future he hopes to produce trance music too.
We also have the iAM Music show syndicated on various FM and Digital stations worldwide, including Ministry Of Sound Radio, Slinky.FM, Puresound, ETN and many more. Further details can be found on the iAM Music website.
Donít put Marcel Woods in the same room as a box. Chances are the box wonít make it out alive. Boy does he hate those boxes!
"It's nothing personal" explains Marcel, "I just canít stand being put into them. People try to define my sound, style and influences down to just one or two genres, but if you've heard me then you'll know that's impossible. But the result is a severe hatred of boxes. Boxes and pigeon-holes. I don't like pigeon-holes either to be honest. I just don't fit into them, never have and never will."
Exactly what doesnít fit is Marcel's mind-blowing mix of raw and energetic dance music. Dancefloors and festivals have fallen before him in swift succession. Global Gathering, Mysteryland, Dance Valley, Trance Energy, Gatecrasher Summer Sound System, Escape Into The Park, Planet Love and Sanctuary just in one summer run! And possibly more than anything else underlining Marcel's diverse nature, 2008 saw him become the only DJ ever to play the White AND Black Edition Sensation parties in the Netherlands.
The Progressive Showcase returns this coming Monday (July 27th) for another two hours of the finest in all things progressive. This week's episode is one I've been particularly looking forward to as we welcome a true headline guest in the shape of US DJ/Producer Blake Jarrell.
Blake's profile has seen his popularity sky-rocket over the past couple of years. With a 40 country world tour under his belt last year & a summer-long residency for Armada at Amnesia in Ibiza to look forward to Blake has certainly been busy & is most definately a man in demand. From his base in adopted hometown Chicago Blake has been amassing quite the discography, steadily building his burdgeoning profile with a stream of successful productions & two hugely popular compilation releases. With a packed International gig diary & support slots for luminaries such as Armin van Buuren to fulfill, Blake is certain to continue his rapid assent to superstar status.
I'm delighted to welcome a guest mixer of Blake's calibre to the show & during hour two of this week's show I'll be presenting a very special sixty minue excerpt from his recent epic seven hour set recorded from Vision in Chicago. Expect an hour of signature productions as well as some exclusive new material.
I'll be taking care of the opening hour of the show, featuring some excellent new music alongside current favourites. Expect to hear productions & remix work from the likes of Josh Gabriel, Sebastian Ingrosso, The Blizzard, Komytea & many more.
The show is scheduled for broadcast from 17.00 (BST) this coming Monday via The Progressive Channel over at http://www.sense.fm. I very much hope some of you can tune in!
