Hey people!!

Since last year trance is becoming a commercial product in the music industry! This is really pissing me off! People who know shit about trance listen to these awesome records like Delerium - The Silence. 50% of the people who were visiting Trance Energy saw it more as a concert than a party! I dont know, but in a year the trance may probably be totally commercialised. Eventually this will make trance vaporise!!! People, my question is, How can we stop this ****** process!!

!!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!!!!!!

well, i dont think there's much we can do, other than keep it real ourselves.. maybe by the time trance is 'mainstream', there will be new breeds of the genre bubbling in the subculture.. actually there already is (max graham, danny howells etc) - so maybe it'll be some real NEXT shite that keeps it throbbing in the underground.. dont worry tho..

and think about it?, even if its commercial cheese trance, it'll be nice to have the masses listening to something other than that britney bitch..

agree?

Cool don't worry!

lets face it the mixes they put out commercially are complete shite! take delerium - silence for instants... the radio edit was a joke compared too the dj tiesto mix ... come on people trance is growin at a nice steady pace and theres always up and coming dj's that will keep it real for us true trance addicts ... most people are scared of change, where as we are always lookin for new shit and were willing too listen too anything enuff times too c if its got potental aren't we?... where as joe public(meaning people that don't hear trance the way we do)listen too a track once, and they either like it or they hate it b4 the records finished spinning... so i'm confident trance will live a long and graceful existences! sites like tranceaddicts will keep it alive for us...nuff said!

respect2all...peaces

#1) stop throwing parties at places like the docks.. where parents will drive the kids, and gino's (like myself) will go and try and look cool dancing to trance, not knowing any of the tracks until i hear delerium, or cosmic gate start up.

#2) stop playing the commercial trance.. duh

The best way to stop it being commercial is to learn to create it yourself. I hear loadsa people on this site talking about what tunes they like and why, so they must be able to apply that knowledge and create, even if it's just for fun.

That applies to DJing too. Learn and go and play decent stuff in a club. Disseminate the knowledge.

And don't listen to or buy shit.

well you only find real trance & progressive tracks in real closed and uncommercialized partys. its right that the radio edit of delerium is shit, real trance will no longer exists only if we stop to search good news djs and good partys.

I'd like to say whats worng with commercviality...but then i'd be a hypocrite!I think the real question should be "how can we stop newbies that like shite trance played on the radio from coming to raves ,instead of clubs where they belong?"If the trance on the radio is good I would try to support the change but it's not and somehow dj's like BT (used to be good when he wasn't dj'ing)are getting famous in public. If I heard trancecore from Sharkey on the radio then why shouldn't it get played it's good music! The only reason I don't like commercialism is bc we get kids listening to chemical brothers and fatboy slim who think that'll be played at raves and it's not, meanwhile these kids are so naive that they're unprepared for the life!

i'd like to say 3 things:
commercialisation screws up trance.. example would be judge jules and his radio 1..
raves and clubs are no different, they have the same people, the same djs, the same music.. so don't even bother claiming that raves are any different from clubs..
true raves don't exist in that part of the world.
and finally.. BT doesn't DJ, has never DJ'ed, and never will..
the only time i can remember where he MIGht have is essential mix back in 97.. all the other ones are either live sets, or digital mixes..

maybe you should do some research on the man but as of (I think but only an approximation)this past fall he has done a few dj'ing sets!Personnaly I've never seen it,but some friends have! You're right though ,he's never dj'ed any of his albums but when he plays in clubs he dj's his music!

I know commercialism screws up trance ,I beleive you've misconstrued what I meant!I stated "IF the trance on the radio was good" I never said it IS good!If your fav dj was played on the radio(none radio mix) would you still be saying commerciality sucks?Judge Jules does suck but on the radio stations here we get very good trance(mostly epic but still good trance)

Speak for the clubs in your area and I'll speak for the ones in mine!I've never once seen a kandy kid bouncing around giving ppl hugs in clubs,I can honestly say that most ravers in my area aren't clubbers!the music and the lighting can be the same but as soon as you don't have the ppl in the culture,it's no longer a rave!

We're a product of our surroundings and it seems that our surroundings are different, infinity!hehehe

Shame / Disagreement bt never dj's!!!

i think you will find that infinity is correct about BT! he plays all of his sets live he never dj's! i won't put my life on it but i'm sure i read it in his biography.
