No. A year that has The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus and possibly Cloud Atlas can't be bad for Hollywood.


Also, there's been talk about Brad Pitt and Moneyball but I think the best thing about the film is its script, or rather the way it goes beyond the cliches of sport dramas and transforms the film into something more than that. The statistics are literally more important than the players so when we see the team set the new win streak record it's not an emotive climax of the story but just another piece of data. The story then goes on for quite a while and I know this was a bit confusing for some of the viewers.

It's the same schema Steven Zaillian used for the new Fincher film which was also more about the process of investigation rather than the investigation itself - even such mundane activities like going to the office or getting food was shot that way.

This is the most important quality of these films, I think, and I hope it doesn't get overdone because I like it.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey should be pretty interesting too. So at least December of 2012 won't be a wash

as long as this goes as planned for a late 2012 release The Master , it is instantly a good movie year.

also add Tarantino's next film Django Unchained.

Oh man I totally forgot Could Atlas was being made into a movie. Looking forward to that.

Also, it seems Netflix had made a booboo. I was hoping to watch the 1996 Franco Zefirelli version of Jane Eyre, but the 2011 version is playing instead. All the info is for the 96 version.

These amazing shadows was a very intriguing documentary about the american film registry. It might not sound very exciting but I was hooked the whole way through! If anyone here considers themselves a film buff, watch that movie. NOW!

Piranha 3D was by far my favorite 3D movie ever and I just found out they're making a sequel!! Sooooo psyched!!

dvdscreener of that has been out for quite a while.. if you really can't wait. dvd audio and video, a few "for your consideration"-banners but nothing too intrusive.

honestly - i hated rampart. yes, the acting was good - woody harrelson was good, but he had to be as the movie was little more than a character study. unfortunately the movie never really went anywhere, never picked up a whole lot of momentum, and eventually seemed to drag on to a worthless conclusion.
