Like a Brazilian author a while ago that wrote the longest book ever in the Portuguese language: as far as the rest of us is concerned, the plot is bollockful and there's no reason whatsoever why we'd spend 10 years of our lives reading it. Not everyone has an interesting story to tell. Or, maybe, it's a sign that the publishing house is doing a poor job.
Remember, Schopenhauer gave lectures to empty rooms: not because his ideas were bad, but because he couldn't make himself heard. His time eventually came in the last years of his life though.
