88 more fucking days

So I metioned this before, but I've been milling around ideas for a story/novella that I want to serialize into comic/graphic novel form.. the idea is starting to get pretty specific and I think will end up being entertaining, but I can't figure out how to go about starting it. I think I'm doing it wrong, lol. I've been working more on the drawing side than hammering out the exact plot when I think I should straight up write the novella and worry about the art later.. that, and I realized it's a lot more work than I expected to make a coherent and dynamic comic thingie. I haven't written fiction since I was in like 5th grade. Been focusing on satire since declaring my major at uni... I wish I could just tell a real writer/artist my ideas and have him or her do all the work, lol. Fuck, I'm lazy.

So then put out an ad for a collaborator?

Heh, it's a possibility but I've got this thing about working with others when it comes to creative works (especially when it's my own ideas). I'm gonna try just writing and discarding the artwork and the 8 slides worth of storyboards and if that fails hard then we'll see. :P

I guess I'm just frustrated that everything's not all spilling out at once and progress isn't going anywhere nearly as quickly as I had imagined; but then what did I expect? I've never done any of this before.

Well, I'm sure that, regardless of how you make it happen, it will all come together in due time.


On another note, I need to rant about my sister. She's so fucking selfish and self centered, and full of shit. She always goes on how family is so important to her and she cares about her family and she's such an empathetic and giving, loving, caring, person blahlbahblahbullshitblahdeeblahshutthefuckup. Yet she never comes to visit my mother (who is on dialysis and probably has 10 years, at best, left on this planet), even though she has time to take trips to Toronto, which is 40 minutes away from here.

And not only that, but my mother's been in the hospital since last Tuesday. I didn't bother telling my sister because my mom actually doesn't like talking to her. All my sister does is upset my mom with her selfish "WHAT ABOUT MEEE???!!" bullshit whenever she phones, and she's generally really fucking insensitive and clueless when it comes to communicating with my mother. For example, when my mother was first told she had to go on dialysis, which is a HUGE life change in so many ways - my sister said to her "YOU BETTER CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE ABOUT LIFE, MOM!" And going on being all bossy telling her she HAS to do this and that and the other. Like, fuck off!

So yeah, my sister texted me yesterday at 6pm, wanting to know where our mother is cause she's been calling all day to no avail, and SO worried, blabhlabhbullshit. So responded that she was at the hospital, and stupidly gave her the room number to call my mom.

What does she fucking do? Calls my SICK mother and reams her out for not contacting her, wanting to know why nobody told her (WHAT ABOUT MEEEE???!!), etc. and doing her usual thing of really upsetting my mom.

Then she texts me back after asking if I could please let her know next time.

God fuck, how are we related??!! She's so full of fucking shit man. She talks a big story but her actions don't match half the shit she says.

Anyways, 1) I was always under the assumption since waaay back in the day that you annd your sister got along.. 2) yeah that's mad fucked up, I hate people like that, and 3) then again I can see why she would be hurt if no one told her her own mother was in the hospital. But when you act like a selfish **** to your family all the time, what do you expect?

Well, we do get along, but we aren't super close. Really, our whole life we always fought with each other (mostly because of her jealously and emotional issues). It wasn't until our dad died that we sort of put that behind us. But she's got issues man. She's extremely emotionally manipulative. Don't even get me started on how she acted on MY birthday, lol. Truly, everything always has to be about her, and if it isn't - she'll pull some kind of stunt so that it is.

And about telling vs. not telling her about my mom. The way I see it is that I need to honour my mother's wishes first. She's not a well person and has limited time left. I don't want to see her upset all the time. I really don't like being int he middle, but my sister's a big girl. If she truly gave a fuck about my mother, she would, and will always, find a way to reach her.

Plus, look what happened when I DID give my sister the benefit of the doubt - she did exactly what she always does.

So no more. For the sake of my mother's health.

Dude, totally. I'd do the same thing.. everyone's moms deserve better than that, imo. Seriously gonna cause selfish drama when your mom is in the hospital? Wtf is wrong with people. Lol.

if she wasn't your sister, you'd probably kick her ass right? tough story to hear. i'm sure we all have our share of family drama stories along those lines unfortunately.
