I'm contemplating taking the train from Halifax to Vancouver next year, albeit stopping over in toronto area for a week & edmonton for a bit longer too. It looks stunning, but why stop there? I wanna go upto alaska too. Problem is my budget

there's plenty through the inside passage from vancouver but a few go right up, and tbh I'd like to do that, and also visit the harbour where the deadliest catch lot go off from when they start a season, it'd just be a fun thing to do once in a lifetime. Biggest problem now though is the exchange rates, I got 1.74 cad to £1 last sept, and right now it stands at about 1.48. Mega fail

Part of what annoys me about train rides like that is you see this amazing scenery fly by out of the window and you just wanna go run around in it, but you're stuck on a track.
