Not the speed, its a jet. You go too fast and you'll just overshoot the runway and have to take off again, too slow and you fall out of the sky because it stalls.
Its actually the angle he came in on being too steep and belted the bum of his plane.
It did seem like the ass on the plane did hit the ground first.
Landing a jet isnt easy, even if the only reference i have for that is hundresds of hours in flight sims.

Actual training helps
I have 47 hours in a Citation CJ3, which is a very sweet plane but also frightfully expensive to run so I didn't get to charter another one, cheap ass medical charities. So mostly the rest of my flight time is in not so elegant or speedy turboprops, but they are far more forgiving.
Ill give that a shot after i have my names on a succesful business or something so i can afford it, because otherwise i would rather spend money on food and stuff Until then a 50EUR video game is close enough

That Harrier pilot just looked dumb, he was coming in way too fast it looked like. Not that the Harrier is a forgiving jet to fly at all... Its actually one of the hardest, especially on landing and low thrust actions, but still the guy was coming in like a rock.
