I understand about the words looking and sounding the same but with slightly different meanings. I dated a Puerto Rican girl from San Juan while she was her in the Army, and the Tex-Mex slang and even the correct Spanish meant different things to her, I remember once she felt insulted because someone said something that in her language was not what the say'er meant. (is Say'er a word?)
