Loads of file-sharing sites are still around, and for any one that they take down - 3 more will pop right back up.

Shame for the people who used the site for legitimate/legal purposes. But yeah, the main thing on that site was copyrighted content. I will admit - most of my TV show watching is stuff I've downloaded from there.

Used to be a time that I'd find all of the DJ sets I wanted on there - although with soundcloud, the use of megaupload for hosting sets seems to have reduced drastically.

It's too bad for the legal people, but that's the chance they have to take. The only way to circumnavigate this problem would be to physically check every file being stored, and that would definitely open up a whole lot of privacy complaints.
