America has a bizarre relationship with electronic music. It sounds electronic music only makes it to the top 40 if there's someone rapping on top of it (which obviously includes vanilla hip hop) or if it's bass-driven breakbeat (mind you, that's not dubstep).

Generally dance music will have a chance in our charts only it involves rapping or is made by a pop star who's already well-known, e.g. Madonna with "Ray Of Light."
"Breathe" is a bit of an anomaly for American charts, IMO.

How about Skrillex? Is he as popular as he seems on the internet?

I dunno, he is kind of popular, but I'm not sure if he's done much on the charts here.

Seriously? I've noticed far more electro house inspired tracks on the radio lately than normal pop songs, and even normal pop music is taking a more straight 4/4 influence.
Also brostep is extremely popular, mainstream wise...
I just listened to (well skimmed through) the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and at least half of the top 10 could easily be considered inspired by EDM... Shitty EDM none the less, but EDM. 4/4 beats, off beat bass, breakdowns, trancey synth melodies, effects, pads, etc.
There was no rapping, most of them are artists who have always made this sort of style of music, etc.

Oh, there's certainly influence. But most of the stuff that actually makes it up there is from pop stars adopting EDM elements, rather than EDM people breaking into pop.

I don't know, Carly Rae Jepsen, Nicki Minaj, and Ellie Goulding only really broke out into popularity with their EDM style tracks.
Also out of the top 10 that are not EDM a number of them have extremely popular remixes. Gotye's Somebody that I Used to Know I have only heard remixes of played on the radio here.
My uncle's 50th birthday bash is next weekend. He's a huge lottery nut and always talks about what he would do if he won big, so I decided to get him a couple of these:
I will record it and hope to get a reaction similar to this:
Or this:
He's a big guy, so hopefully he doesn't have a heart attack instead.

Seems pretty mean to me, but I don't know what your relationship is like with him.

Yea... my sis said the same thing.
He's a light-hearted guy, though, so I expect him to be a good sport about it. Plus I'm going to get him a bottle of something good, so I'm sure that'll help ease the pain afterward.
The fake pregnancy test would totally get me if someone were to pull that off on me
