I honestly don't know, but what I can tell you is that I just came so fucking hard, twice. It was nice. You see the lil' rhyme I did there? That's what us rappers call a money-lyric.

Wow, lazy people are unbelievable.
I don't know if this exists in other countries, but there's usually a trolley cart or two in residential buildings here in Brazil so people can carry heavy stuff from their cars to their apartments. They're usually found in the garage, where it should be returned after use.
Tonight a woman simply left it in front of the lift and walked away. I was dumbstruck. How hard is it to spend 30 seconds of your life returning it if you bother to use the damn thing?

I like when you are at a grocery store or something and people get done with a cart and they just push it off with their foot and roll it across the lot into another parking space. I've seen people do that when they are literally right next to the cart return things... I think people do it because they are assholes not because they are lazy.
Actually now that I think about it I once saw someone push a cart they were using behind another car next to theirs so they could back out and just left it there...

I suspect this has something to do with big countries, such as the US, Brazil, and China, where population density isn't too high and you can be inconsiderate with others without wreaking total havoc.
I had never thought about it until I heard a Dutch primatologist (Frans De Waal) mention that this could be one of the reasons why Americans are a lot less community-driven than his fellow countrymen. Of course, I don't know how (and if) you can measure that, but I wonder if this could explain some of the differences... these people are too common to be considered outliers.

They just think someone else will do it. It's someone else's JOB, why not let them do their JOB, it's what they get paid for goddammit! In a perverted way, it makes some sense, though I always return carts as a common courtesy to the next person who might seek to use it.

This. I personally don't think it has do with being community-driven or not. I see it happen here too, but not that often. Just the assholes (with assholes as parents) do it.

I just gave a lecture / presentation to some students and one girl looked exactly like Banora. I found it weird and very irritating.

Judging by the interest she exhibited in what I was talking about yes, definitely a real doll.
It's really weird, when two people look the same my mind starts fusing them into one. If I ever have a student that looks like Lira I'll probably start trolling him for being a philosophy-loving hippie.
