Oh well... shitty deal. I was already on the Gardiner when I heard. So no going back. Already had the 2 hotel rooms for our 8 people.
Made the most of it tho, went for dinner and rinks at Oasis rooftop patio, got a ballin' booth, drank till about 1am, then hit Wrongbar up, then ended up at Footwork for a bit.
Bad day considering the event, but all ended up having a really great time. Now i'm exhausted!
"We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott's family and all those close to him.

What a bummer. Was eating nearby Downsview and about to drive over when texts started coming in asking if we were ok. This happened. The week before I was at EDC Vegas and part of that was cancelled. Happy im safe and alive but what a summer of musical meltdowns so far.

I wonder if this is going to lead to some legislation or something... Seriously in the last year approx I can recall so many of these.
Bluesfest in Ottawa
Indiana State Fair
Pukkelpop
And now this... Probly missing some but that's a lot of collapsed stages for a 1 year span and it's only a matter of time before one falls into a crowd or something worse.

It should only lead to new legislation if they find, through an investigation, that we had flaws in the system.
If they find that existing laws were not being followed, then they simply need to enforce the existing laws.
We have plenty of rules in this country, and I feel if something like this happens, somebody screwed up (BIG).
