im not the only one annoyed by them...

and whatever, if it means having to put up with them to be able to listen to those sets, that's fine.

but just curious to know who actually think it's a good idea to book them.

it's mostly MC Stretch, and yeah he does seem to be a staple at Euro events. I guess someone thought it'd be a good idea back in the day and now he's just ingrained in the scene over there.

Note to US promoters: if anyone talks, it should be the DJ, or just someone introducing the next DJ. DONT BRING THIS GUY OVER HERE!!!!!

Re: European festival MC's....

Yes, he will annoy people who are there for the DJs. But the promoters have figured it out, music from the sound system alone won't get most of the people to jump and bounce, and a "likeable and energetic" human image will be much more likely to get them jumping up and down, thus creating a cracking party, and then much better bottom line for profits.

If you're taking about MC Stretch, I read everyone in Europe hates him too. The DJs supposedly are the ones that like him. It's all about the DnB DJs, they put rappers to shame.

I remember him from Mysteryland. Problem is that the guy prefers Dirty Dutch House, and was standing beside Sander van Doorn during his set yelling "Old school ravers in the house, can you feel it?" Half the crowd seemed like 18-24 yo, so IMO he was the old school raver in the house...lol

i would LOVE to get on the mic and introduce a dj. But i don't think i would talk during their set. Introductions should be it... maybe an exit thingy too.

That's been a huge roadblock to me going to European festivals. I HATE it when MCs talk over the music. They just incessantly blabber the stupidest shit. It is completely out of place for anything other than DnB (I think its out of place there too) and ruins the experience for me. I wont even listen to a downloaded set once I hear an MC. Delete.

I was at a Planet of the Drums event one time and saw Dieselboy turn off the MCs mic after about the fifth "rewind". Should have seen the look on the MCs face!

Don't know how many sets this guy has ruined for me!

Now I simply skip and delete a set that has his voice in it!
