As I said earlier... I believe the criminal justice system should seek to reform, remove those that cannot be reformed from the general populace, and punish. The fate worse than death part seems an appropriate punishment for someone who killed, sodomized, dismembered, consumed, someone and then mailed body parts to unsuspecting people. Plus those eybrows... did you see those things?

you don't know why he did it. He could be crazy, he could also just want attention. Insanity defence doesn't work, so by apriori, we have already determined these people sane therefore within the realm of behaviour of a normal person including reform. if he is not capable, then he is not sane, should not have stood trial yada yada.

But you can only charge someone for what we have crimes for. Killing someone is bad, fucking a dead body is sick, kinda hot, but really. not much to talk about.
