Sorry bout this > anyone here know who the top producing video game nations are?
I'm in adebate with this British Liberal who's claiming AMerica is going down the pan (I'm argueing that this has been said many times the last 50 years and is wrong again), and he cites 1 piece of evidence being that the US ranks below Spain well down the order in terms of the value of vid games each nation produces / the value of it's gameing industry.
I though't one of you lot may have a list or something as I can't believe America is not in the top 3.

As an economic power i'd say it's fucked, just because of the way the derivatives market is going. I have a good pal who works in a related industry and he's claiming they're all just baby sitting the entire system until it inevitably comes to a crashing fail. It's that serious.
Anyhoo.
As a military power they're fucking terrifying. Decades ahead of the rest of the world and almost probably unstoppable in a Blitzkrieg style conventional war. No since Nazi Germany in the 30s has one nation accumulated such military superiority.

As far as the videogame industry goes, I can't see how EA and Rockstar alone doesn't make them number one in terms of overall sales etc.
they are number in terms of sales but it is hard to quantify as the numbers are from 2010 and the mobile industry might skew them. Also, it seems intellectual content is usually made in the USA while the manufacturing is done in asia. USA is still number 1 in how do you say soft power ? the term means like how to effect change by cultural means. Sad i know but ya, the wold seems to care about the Kardasssians.
