I know I know, i don't go to these "Hollywood" clubs hardly, but i had friends in town and REALLY wanted to see Tommy Trash play.

First of all, it was at LURE, which is the "Hottest New Club" right now. When i got there, i realized, it was that club next to Green Door i think - they just keep on changing names.

Skipped the queue, dropped some mumbo jumbo to the door guy at the front and got in no problem. Tommy Trash played great, the event was great, so i'm not talking crap about the event itself - i enjoyed myself. However....

On the dance floor - these guys next to me going CRAZY - jumping, having the best time ever, i said to them "Tommy is Killing it". One of the matey's response: "Who is Tommy?".

I am just venting my frustration here about everyone - The Hollywood clubs, jumping on the EDM bandwagon because its the hot thing right now, and i have to deal with the people being there as a status - not because of the music i love.

well you have to realize a lot of ppl go to clubs because they are new and happening, and they know they usually play 'electro house' and that's about it, don't know the specific dj, etc.

I don't understand edman's mindset, although I read it frequently here on TA.

If you love EDM, you should be very happy that people are hopping onto the EDM bandwagon. The extra money flooding into the EDM market gives DJs that you like more of an incentive to play in LA more frequently.
