Hi ppl,
Me and some friends were thinking of opening a studio and a promtion company

My question is where can i find the equipment needed?
and
How can i make the rooms soundproof?
Freak
1- Shops, ebay- hey you might find it instead of a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
2- with a great deal of money, time and hassle.

Seriously- you shouldnt even be thinking of doing it as you clearly dont have the first clue as to whats involved.

Studio equipment is specific to each and every individual studio.

Studio acoustics and noise reduction are an artform- and very detailed and complex. Far too in depth to list here.

Do you want a live room? Do you want a vocal booth? Hard disc studio? multitrack? Do you need a control room? et etc.
All depends on
a) what music
b) where
c) your style of working
d) your budget

Higher level studios have budgets just for the acoustics that could buy you a house.
the equipment could buy you a ferrari to sit outside that house.
In contrast, with a reasonable budget you can get good workable results.

I agree. You probably need to do LOADS more research than just look on here. Ebay is a good suggestion for actually getting it. Maybe look around trade shows. People would be glad to help :)

this is part of my research...(not gonna read this forum and blow some cash away)lol
Anyway i'm into hip hop and trance...
i work 100% hardware cause i can't stand software.
it's in an apartment building.
i'm gonna get a sound engennir to help out...
what i meant was the things here are expensive...
for example a door that reduces noise is for 2000 pounds

best bet is to build a floating room- walls and doors at an absolute minimum.

You will have problems in an apartment building with the ceilings and especially the floors- i wouldnt even think of doing it there TBH.

its an artform i tell thee
