These past two months have been very hectic and I havent been able to get my mixes out as soon as I usually like too. But nevertheless I get them done as fast as I can without sacrificing quality and I hope you can agree that quality hasnt been sacrificed either =)
Apparat is a genius..plain and simple. This guy's music is full of emotion and high quality sound all over the place. I wanted to include part two of this track but I believe it would've only slown things down too much. Either way a great track please enjoy this wonderful intro.
16 Bit Lolita's are always great and this time around its still no exception. Goodbye Pluto is soothing and groovy and great way to get things going. Look out for this on Hernan Cattaneo's Sequenential 2 mix!
Sebastian Leger is another great house artist that i've yet to include in any of my mixes. Most of his tracks are nice but arent the appropiate sound or feel that I like I utilize until I heard Saturn. It flows very well with Goodbye Pluto and also has alot of life. The breakdown with strings really came out of nowhere and add a considerable amount of emotion to this track.
One half of the popular group M.I.D.O.R. & Six4Eight Eelke Kleijn proves his talent with his most recent release 8 Bit Era. I heard this in a David West mix and fell in love with it immedietally. It has a real nice David West sound to it which means its just constantly giving you energy and life. It never lets down and builds up to something real special.
Ferry Corsten is always on the forefront of that electro trance sound. This time he takes a more subtle approach with his extended dub remix for Forever. The vocals will be familiar to anyone who likes his track Beautiful because its where they came from =) It has a more house influence and it's very smooth. I really think everyone will enjoy the track and its lyrics.
I dont think i've done a Reflections mix without Matt Rowan or Jaytech in them. With good reason too but this time its just Rowan with his most recent release Fat ******. An obscene name for such a beautiful more downtempo house influenced track. It's influenced too not an actual downtempo track it has the familiar chimes and bells of one but takes off immedietally and really gives it you. Outstanding track I think you'll enjoy just as much as I do.
I heard Summerfish on Tiesto's new weekly radio show that was called Club Noveau but is now called Club Life. Not a bad radio show by any means its a bit diverse in its sound. I really fell in love with the piano in this track and new it had to be in one of my mixes. The track speaks for itself its a bit older but this will make its way into many summer sets <3
Another track heard on that same radio show. Coburn always pumps out memorable electro tracks and Malente went full force and remixed the track so well. The guitar line is my favorite part it really makes me wanna air guitar no matter where I am haha. Enjoy! and dance!
I wanted to make sure the energy wasnt lost at this point and sneakily brought in Mohawks remix of Noel Sangers Nothing. A beautifully bass driven track that was made for WMC this past year and it's pace is matched only by its constant output of energy. I will without a doub be using this song quite often in the coming months.
I felt it was time to get a little bit more on the progressive trance tip with a little more relaxing tune. I usually like Cressida tunes and the original versions of Cressida songs do it for me. Together with Stone n Forward they created this track Why Dont You Talk About Me. The breakdown is very relaxing but overall theirs a great sense of movement in the track. It flows real well and the guitar in the breakdown oddly enough reminds me of the first stage of Sonic Adventure haha. Either way its a great song and I know everyone will enjoy it =)
Kristy Hawkshaw is easily one of the most recognizable names in the trance/dance music scene. Her voice was the staple of many hits and is always one to look out for. This time she teamed up with Tenishia and got remix treatment from Jose Amnesia who gave this track an amazing remix. It's very subtle and more calm but has its moments.
Laurent (Airwave) has been a main stay in dance music for as long as I can remember. Responsible for many classics of our time under many aliases ranging from L-Vee, LoLo, Green Martian, Cloud 69, and V-one to name a few. This time around under his Airwave alias he brings us the Elektrified mix of Trilogique a very soothing and beautiful track. Im usually hesitant to include anything that sounds a bit too epic or trancey unless it gets the and sound and feel right without overdoing it.
Ending the electronic side of things is a remix of Death Cab for Cuties Marching Band of Manhattan by who better than Blake Jarrell himself. You'll immedietally hear Blakes kick and bassline as he slowly brings in the vocals and guitar. I always trust Blake's work he has a tendency to remix songs without ruining the original idea of the track but still adding enough to give you wanting more. The piano gets me everytime and the breakdown builds very well I think any fan of Death Cab will enjoy this very much.
Most will remember the final track of this mix from the ending of 28 Day's Later. The soundtrack for the movie itself was extremely well done and John Murphys score was unforgettable. It's a very dark and moody track with interesting lyrics. Hope you like how it all finishes off <3
